Please excuse the derp-lulziness of the lyric substitution, for those familiar with MCR. I wanted to make a fitting homage, but with Cirno there's really no taking yourself too seriously. ~
Made on a whim entirely on one Sunday afternoon which should've been spent on assignments. Because um ... well several reasons. Firstly because I wanted a new ID / avatar that reflected the person I've adopted since drawing Dark Koishi. Secondly because I wanted to revive a Black Parade Cirno into something of a recurring character in my gallery. Her birth happened rather randomly in the following comic strip: [link]
Thirdly ... to prove myself that I can still draw.
A few nights ago I was feeling kind of firmly rutted, and raised with a close friend thoughts that I might never draw again. To my confusion and amusement, this made them much angrier than I had intended. Like giving up, after carrying this ability and knack for arting all this time, was the most horrid crime, and much more than that - a personal insult.
It amused me because in the great scheme of things, one lost artist in the wealth of talent already existing on this earth is really of no consequence. But us humans love to deal in the personal, don't we? In the greater scheme of things, I'm a nobody. My fledgling digital-painting ability cuts far shy of the level of being professionally viable, and it hardly makes up for my wealth of other faults. But it somehow matters, to a friend. Now ain't that darned funny?
I should feel fucking touched.
So ah, fourthly. I suppose that line from "Welcome to the Black Parade" sums up a rather nice personal motto, doesn't it? (As overused as those British "keep calm" meme posters are.) Fourthly, this is a boot to my own behind to keep at it. I'm in a weirdly defiant mood right now, but there's so much self-anger bubbling behind in the shadows, it's the weirdest, most messed-up version of an up-high I've ever seen. Self-defiance. Deviance? Lol. So here's my motto. "Carry on, Cirno." Carry on drawing. Carry on living.
