Artist's Comments
I first drew the lineart for this back in January, shortly after I beat Twilight Princess for the first time in late December '07 (yes, I'm slow). I thought I'd lost it in the computer crash, but seeing that the IT guy fixed it without erasing everything, I could barely wait to finish this, my first piece of fanart for the best RPG I've played yet. Now I have. XD
Link in Hyrule Field, as dusk falls and a veil of natural twilight is cast briefly upon the kingdom. I referenced the background from a real picture I took of the in-game location. Originally there was going to be Midna in there somewhere, but I failed to find anywhere decent to put her. So Link gets all the glory this time.
I've worked on this for way too long... like at least 50 hours. I'm happy with it though... which is a rather suicidal thing to say, according to my mentor who insists that any contentment with a piece leads only to doing worse in subsequent ones. Anywho I'll risk it. It's certainly the best I've done so far, and with luck it won't be the best I'm ever going to do. I hope you guys like it too. =]
