Overdue by a week, this is my seven-year-old brother Harris' birthday pic: Samus Aran and Young Link charging one another atop the Great Fox in the clouds above Corneria. Obviously it could only be Super Smash Bros Melee! I mostly use Samus, and my brother uses Young Link, and we always use this stage, so that's where this scene came from.
Used soft-shading everywhere as opposed to cel-shading for the first time, and I quite like how it turned out, as well as how fun it was to use this method. I've discovered how much I suck at drawing shadows with this picture. That's the main mistake in this pic, but there are bound to be many others, so any comments on them and how to improve are welcome! Of course, if you like it, that's cool too.  PS CS2 using Graphire 4. Took me around 10 hours - sweet, I'm getting more efficient! Art (c) me. Young Link, The Legend of Zelda, Samus, Metroid, the Great Fox, Corneria, Star Fox, and Super Smash Bros Melee are all (c) Nintendo. |

As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same.
